Sweet Tamarind Chutney (Meethi Saunth)
Ingredients
- 100 gm Tamarind Pulp
- 200 gm Jaggery/ Gur
- 1/4 tsp White Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper/ Red Chili powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds
- 2 tbsp Melon Seeds
Instructions
- Dip the tamarind (Imli) in lukewarm or normal water for 10 minutes
- Mash it with hands completely and strain it
- Make semi liquid pulp (moderate consistency)
- Take the tamarind pulp and Gur (jaggery).
- Add both the ingredients for boiling in a heavy bottom pan or a kadahi
- Boil them till the Gur dissolves in Tamarind pulp.
- switch off the flame
- Add all spices and mix it well
- Now add Melon Seeds
- Meethi Saunth or Sweet Tamarind Chutney is ready
