Sweet Tamarind Chutney (Meethi Saunth)

Ingredients
  

  • 100 gm Tamarind Pulp
  • 200 gm Jaggery/ Gur
  • 1/4 tsp White Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper/ Red Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds
  • 2 tbsp Melon Seeds

Instructions
 

  • Dip the tamarind (Imli) in lukewarm or normal water for 10 minutes
  • Mash it with hands completely and strain it
  • Make semi liquid pulp (moderate consistency)
  • Take the tamarind pulp and Gur (jaggery).
  • Add both the ingredients for boiling in a heavy bottom pan or a kadahi
  • Boil them till the Gur dissolves in Tamarind pulp.
  • switch off the flame
  • Add all spices and mix it well
  • Now add Melon Seeds
  • Meethi Saunth or Sweet Tamarind Chutney is ready

You can serve this delicious meethi saunth or sweet tamarind chutney with your favourite Chaat
