Ingredients

For Dough

  • 1/2 cup Wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 50 ml Milk
  • 1/8 tsp White Salt
  • Water if needed

For Stuffing

  • 1 cup Chopped Cabbage
  • 1 tsp Red Chili powder
  • 2 tbsp Chopped Coriander
  • 1/4 cup Grated Processed Cheese
  • 1 medium sized Thinly chopped Tomato
  • White Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow fry

Instructions

  • Add all the dough ingredients in a bowl and knead them well to make a soft dough.
  • Cover it and keep it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl add chopped cabbage, red chilli powder and chopped coriander. Mix them well.
  • Divide the dough into 5-7 equal balls.
  • Roll each ball into very thin small chapatis according to the size of your Gujiya mould (I rolled the balls into a 5 inch round Chapati)
  • Set the Chapati into the Gujiya mould. For Reference see the video.
  • Fill in 1 tablespoon of cabbage stuffing on one side of the mould on the Chapatti, add 3-4 pieces of tomato, sprinkle white salt over the stuffing and add 1 tbsp of grated cheese over it. (Remember not to fill in extra stuffing in the Gujiya pocket or later it might tear off)
  • Apply water on the sides and fold the mould. Press and secure it tightly to close the ends properly. (For method watch the video)
  • In a pan, add oil for shallow frying.
  • Add all the gujiyas in the pan and shallow fry. Flip the gujiyas at different intervals.
  • Fry them till they turn Golden brown.
